    Working at REI as an Controls Engineer I you will be given the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and skills in a fast-paced, safety-conscious manufacturing environment.  In this vital role, you will be responsible for assisting higher-level engineers in the toner department with assignments to evaluate, select, order, install, set up, design modifications for, test, troubleshoot, improve the performance of, and establish maintenance procedures for manufacturing equipment.

    Responsibilities include

    • Assists higher-level manufacturing equipment engineers to evaluate, select, order, install, and set up manufacturing equipment.
    • Assists in troubleshooting, investigating and determining the root cause of equipment failures and problems. 
    • Assists higher-level manufacturing equipment engineers to analyze and identify modifications that can be made to improve equipment performance and reliability.
    • Assists in designing and fabricating new and replacement parts.
    • Assists in creating, writing, or modifying preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and start up procedures.
    • Conducts research and gathers and summarizes data as directed to support higher-level manufacturing equipment engineers. Assists in the preparation of reports and presentations.
    • Assists higher-level manufacturing equipment engineers in training production and maintenance personnel on the usage and maintenance of equipment. 

    Qualified candidates will possess

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 0-2 years experience in manufacturing equipment engineering.
    • Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to the production of various products. 
    • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
    • Good analytical, problem solving, communication, and presentation skills. Strong math skills. Intermediate skills in Excel and other application software used in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
