Overview

Come join our team!  Ricoh Electronics, Inc. (REI) is looking for a Director of Production Control t to manage our Thermal Media Production Control operation.  In this growing operation, the Production Control Director will be challenged with planning and controlling the scheduling and movement of materials and production through the manufacturing process to meet customer requirements while optimizing the inventory turnover and distribution cost for end-to-end supply chain.

Responsibilities include

  • Model the “safety first” behaviors we expect of all associates by ensuring that operational procedures, equipment, and processes are designed to provide a safe work environment.
  • Direct managers, supervisors, professionals, clerical support and/or hourly personnel engaged in production activities.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term department plans, budgets and targets to achieve business objectives including but not limited to production capacity with line balance to improve bottleneck, manpower plan, inventory plan, distribution cost plan while maintaining QCDSE standards.
  • Develop, recommend and implement policies, processes and systems to utilize resources efficiently and improve the profitability of the Thermal business.
  • Direct staff in the development of plans that optimize production output. Approve production schedules and authorize the completion, cancellation, or deferral of work based upon current inventory, demand, and materials availability.
  • Review and approve material and manpower requirements.  Review recommendations for material purchasing and expediting needed to meet production requirements. 
  • Direct the development of and review all new product material plans and production plan preparation from Pre-mass through Turnover evaluation reporting.  Prepare new product plan recommendations for senior management approval.   
  • Oversee the movement and tracking of materials and finished goods to ensure delivery schedules are achieved
  • Review and evaluate operating results and redirect production/material planning and scheduling as required to ensure the achievement of business objectives and customer requirements within QCDSE standards.  
  • Consolidate reports and prepare presentations to inform senior management of departmental progress and problems regarding production and inventory trends.

Qualified candidates will possess

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) and 8-11 years’ experience in production control, with a minimum of 5 years management experience required.
  • APICS and/or CPIM certification preferred.
  • Must have advanced problem-solving skills to direct the resolution of complex and high impact supply chain and production capacity problems, often requiring collaboration with other departments, customers or vendors.
  • Must have MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills at intermediate level.
  • Must have demonstrated positive leadership skills with experience in teambuilding/motivating practices to support company initiatives.
