REI seeks a talented Strategic Business Analyst. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development of strategic plans for assigned business units. As a Strategic Business Analyst, your role will be to advise senior management in developing short and long-term plans, implementing the strategy, evaluating progress and making recommendations and adjustments as necessary to maximize corporate value by means of profit generating opportunities, profitability improvement and internal process improvement and/or corporate risk mitigation.

Responsibilities include

  • Assists higher-level staff in the development and recommendation of short/long term strategic plans with clearly defined objectives for assigned business units or functions.
  • Gathers data and prepares analyses in the assessment of business unit strengths and weaknesses and identifies potential performance gaps with strategic plan.
  • Researches and evaluates external factors and trends, i.e. political, economic, social and technological, with the potential to impact business performance.
  • Identifies opportunities to mitigate or leverage external and internal business conditions.
  • Assists higher-level staff in coordinating the implementation of strategic plans in assigned business units and functional areas.
  • Prepares project schedules, coordinates meetings, executes programs and delivers procedures/instructions to implement strategic plans. 
  • Reviews and compares business results to support the evaluation of business units or functional areas for achievement of strategic objectives.  
  • Identifies performance issues and recommends feedback on ways to improve group performance and rating methods for next review period.  
  • Prepares data and information to exchange with RCL on opportunities for REI to add value to corporation initiatives.
  • May recommend methods and means to incorporate global strategy into REI's vision, strategic objectives, business plan and operations.
  • Performs routine to moderately analyses of business prospects to support the development of action plans.

Qualified candidates will possess

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or equivalent combination of education/certification and work experience. 
  • 2-7 yrs. work experience in finance, accounting or business analysis; preferably in manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting, budgeting and business finance principles and processes.
  • Strong analytical and math skills, problem solving, and organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with others at all levels, including senior executive leadership team, of the organization, to build consensus and get decisions implemented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in the research, planning, development and implementation of strategic corporate projects.
  • Ability to establish work-flows, manages multiple projects, and meets necessary deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality; ethical, creditable and trustworthy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (clear and concise) as well as strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy and judgment.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word. Proven ability creating high-level and dynamic Power-Point presentations, Word documents and Excel spreadsheets/reports.
  • Attention to detail, with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
